Tony Major
Licensed as an Architect in both Colorado and California, Tony has over thirty years of experience in a wide variety of residential and commercial projects. A Colorado native, Tony has resided in the Roaring Fork Valley for fourteen years during which time he has designed and completed numerous custom homes, multi-family housing and mixed-use commercial projects throughout the state.
As Regional Director of an architectural office in California, Tony served as lead designer and project manager of over 1,500,000 square feet of commercial projects. After attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, Tony worked for several years in the Colorado Springs and Boulder areas with firms specializing in community planning, residential and commercial design.
For me, creating successful architecture, whether designing a single building or planning a community, requires broad knowledge, experience and sensitivity. The challenge of aligning engineering, materials and function with social, intuitive and artistic applications in a creative and timeless way is what fuels my passion as an Architect, says Tony. The most successful forms of this are ultimately found in the natural world. The more we integrate and compliment our creations with this Architecture, the more successful our built environments become.
Seeing your vision realized and the positive effects on someone as they use and experience it, is very rewarding. The process of creating a product that exceeds a clients expectations, however, is even more fulfilling. The journey there never gets old. Theres always something greater to aspire to, always a higher level to attain.
Tony enjoys living in Carbondale with his wife and daughter and finds inspiration through volunteering for his religious organization, skiing Colorados double-black diamond runs, road and mountain biking, and wilderness hiking.
